SBBJ FY09 bottom line rises 28% to Rs 403 cr

State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur today said its net profit for the year ended March 31, has increased by 28.07 per cent to Rs 403.45 crore compared with Rs 315 crore in the year-ago period.

The bank’s total income rose to Rs 4,387.33 crore during the period under review, as against Rs 3,523.68 crore in the same period last financial year.

Pursuant to the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India in respect of Agriculture Debt Waiver and Debt Relief Scheme 2008, the bank has made a claim from the Centre for Rs 402.30 crore towards waiver of debts.

 

Out of such claim, a sum of Rs 164.94 crore has been received on December 24, 2008 as first installment. Shares of State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur settled up 0.93 per cent at Rs 260.10 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
