State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) has tied up with United India Insurance Company for marketing general insurance products.

The bank has taken up corporate agency of SBI Life to commence bancassurance about a year back and is aggressively marketing the life insurance products.

"The bank would sell the insurance products through the network of 900 branches. By offering insurance solution that satisfies a customer's intimate personal need with genuine care and attention, a sales staff at any insurance point would be conveying that the bank not only cares for his savings, but also about the financial security of his family. Thus, a satisfied bancassurance customer is an asset both for the bank and the insurance company," said AG Kalmankar, the general manager of SBH.

The bank had already trained a good number of staff in life insurance, and planned to train the staff in general insurance in February , a press release from SBH said.
