State Bank of India (SBI) on Friday announced the result of Probationary Officers (PO) mains recruitment exam 2016. The list of shortlisted candidates is published on its official website www.sbi.co.in.
The state-owned bank, which missed an earlier deadline, issued a fresh notification announcing the new date to be August 20, 2016. The result was published a day before schedule.

Earlier this year, SBI had invited applications from interested and eligible aspirants for recruitment to 2200 posts of PO along with 168 backlog vacancies. Online registration including edit/modification of application and payment of application fees/intimation charges began from May 4, 2016. Last date, as per the notification, to finish the initial procedure was May 24, 2016. Candidates could download of call letters for online preliminary examination from June 14, 2016 onwards.
The recruitment drive is being held in three phases.
Phase 1: Online preliminary exam
Phase 2: Mains examination
Phase 3: Group Discussion & Interview
Candidates who qualifiedin the prelims were shortlisted for mains examination. Those who have made the cut-offs set by the bankfor the mains exam will be called forthe group discussion and interview round.

SBI PO 2016 mains results
About 48,000 scored the minimum qualifying marks in the preliminary exams and were shortlisted for mains.The online examination was conducted on July 31, 2016. More than 6000 candidates have cleared the mains and will be called for the interview round. The call letters for the same will be available on SBI’s website from August 24, 2016 onwards.
Candidates can check SBI PO Mains result 2016 by:

2. Click on the Careers button on the top right hand corner of the page or log on to sbi.co.in/careers
3. Go to Latest Announcements on the top right hand corner of the page
4. Scroll and click on the Result Main Exam – Phase II link
5. Check the result will be displayed
6. Save the result
Detailed scorecard should be available announced online soon. Candidates should take a print out of the same.
As per the original notice, the group discussion and interview phase will commence from September 1, 2016. Candidates will be issued a call letter on August 24, 2016 and also intimated via sms or email.
The final result of the recruitment process will be out on September 30.The selection will be done according to candidates’ rank in the merit list in the ratio of maximum three candidates per vacancy.
