SBI Q4 net up 22%

State Bank of India (SBI) has posted a 22% increase in net profit at Rs 1,064.88 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2005 as compared to Rs 872.46 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. Total income has increased from Rs 9,721.37 crore in Q4-04 to Rs 10,338.16 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005.

SBI has registered a 17% rise in net profit at Rs 4,304.52 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 as compared to Rs 3,681 crore in FY04. Total income has increased from Rs 38,072.93 crore in FY-04 to Rs 39,547.91 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005.

The bank has reported a 1.21% dip in its consolidated net profit (after minority interest) at Rs 5,463.93 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 as compared to Rs 5,531.10 crore for the year ended March 31, 2004. Total income has increased from Rs 52,484.16 crore in FY-04 to Rs 54,535.70 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005.

According to a release issued by SBI to the BSE, the Central Board has declared a dividend of Rs 12.50 per share for the year ended March 31, 2005.
