SBI to set up more ATMs in north

The State Bank of India's Chandigarh Circle, comprising Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and the Union Territory of Chandigarh, is set roll out 100 new ATMs this year.
 
The circle office has also identified 34 locations for installing railway tickets vending machines. The bank has one million ATM card holders and disperses more than Rs 3 crore cash per month through the ATM network.
 
SBI (Chandigarh Circle) Chief General Manager Hemant Contractor said out of 680 branches in the circle, 312 were already networked and the rest would be networked by year end.
 
The bank was also contemplating disbursing pension through the ECS (electronic clearance service) and initiated a centralised pension processing at Chandigarh enabling 26,000 customers of the said service.
 
The Chandigarh circle registered a 9 per cent growth in the deposits and 30 per cent growth in advances and recorded a CD ratio of 76 per cent in the last financial year.
