Sbi Writes Off Rs 4,000 Crore, Net Npas Down To 4.5%

The State Bank of India (SBI) is understood to have written off around Rs 4,000 crore of sticky assets in 2002-03 to clean up its balance sheet. This is the largest write-off undertaken by the bank in a year.
