The market saw fewer issuances of certificates of deposit (CDs) on Thursday as mutual funds preferred to remain on the sidelines due to limited inflows to their schemes, dealers said.

On Thursday, short-term money market instruments worth around Rs 2,060 crore were placed in the market as against Rs 3,025 crore on Wednesday.

The rates on short-term papers have eased marginally in the last two weeks due to buying interest from mutual funds.

Three-month CDs were quoted at seven to 7.2 per cent as against 7.1-7.3 per cent on Wednesday.
