State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH), an associate bank of State Bank of India, will recruit as many as 2,000 clerical and 600 supervisory staff during the current financial year, a top bank official said today.
"This is in addition to the 600 supervisory officers, who cleared tests last year and would be joining us in the next two months," managing director SBH, Renu Challu told media persons during the launch of an SMS Feedback facility of the bank here.
She said about 300 of the recruits will be posted in rural areas to develop bank's agricultural loan portfolio.
Challu said the bank is set to open 230 branches this year.
SBH, which had applied for five licenses for Uttarakhand and two for Chhattisgarh, expects to open branches by the end of this year, she said.
The bank today opened its first-ever currency management branch (CMB) here to better sort out soiled and counterfeit notes and make cleaner notes available across the counter.

Challu said the CMB service will initially be linked to 28 branches in Hyderabad and gradually extended to other chest branches across the country in due course.
SBH Gen-X, a savings account targeting youths between 18 and 30 years of age group, was also launched on the occasion.
The bank launched a loyalty reward programme for retail internet banking wherein every transaction will earn one point and after 400 points accrued, Rs 100 will be debited to the customer's account.
