Public sector Syndicate Bank is planning to step up its branch network to 2001 including a branch in London by the end of this year, a top official of the bank said. |
"The bank has already got clearance from RBI for opening new branches and licence has been sought by the bank for 40 more branches," said N Kantha Kumar, the bank's chairman and managing director (CMD) at the launch of a new ATM and e-banking facility here yesterday. |
He said by the end of the current financial year, Syndicate Bank would bring 500 branches under it's e-banking network which would be increased to 750 by the next financial year. The bank also plans to upgrade 40 extension counters as full-fledged branches, he said. |
