T M Bhasin was today appointed as Public sector Indian Bank's Chairman and Managing Director. He succeeds M S Sundarajan, who retired yesterday.
Prior to his new post, Bhasin was Executive Director of United Bank of India (UBI), an Indian Bank press release said here.
Bhasin, an MBA (finance) topper from University of Delhi, is also an alumnus of JFK School of Government, Harvard.
He entered the industry as a Probationary officer in Oriental Bank of Commerce in 1978 and served it for over three decades in various capacities.
As an Executive Director of UBI, he was instrumental for the success of the bank's Initial Public Offer, the release said.
