Kolkata-based UCO Bank posted a net loss of Rs 384.83 crore in the second quarter of the present fiscal against a net profit of Rs 156.20 crore in the same period last financial year.
The bank's gross NPA swelled to Rs 22,275.51 crore in the last quarter against 12,226.66 crore in the same period last year. The net NPA of the bank increased to Rs 10,890.43 crore in the last quarter, against Rs 7,123.11 crore in the same period last year.
In terms of percentage, the gross NPA of the bank in the last quarter stood at 16.51%, against 8.51% in the same period last fiscal.
Total provisions (other than tax) and contingencies of the bank in the last quarter stood at Rs 1,488.34 crore against Rs 913.27 crore in the same period last year, a rise of almost 63%.
