Public sector general insurance firm United India Insurance Company is planning to complete implementation of core insurance solutions connecting all its 1,465 offices spread across the country, within next 10 months to one year.
The core insurance solutions, for anywhere-anytime access to the customers and ensures delivery of better service experience, is under the process of being laid out, said G Srinivasan, chairman and managing director, UII.
“It is under implementation in various offices and we expect it to complete in another 10 months. This will enhance the management information system and customers could see their insurance policy details online,” said Srinivasan.
The company, on Monday informed that its Platinum Jubilee year celebrations were inaugurated by Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, in New Delhi on February 18. He also launched the company’s online customer portal and critical care health insurance product. The Finance Minister, during the occassion, stated that with the banking inclusion reaching an inflection point, it is now time to look at insurance-led financial inclusion in the country, said the company release.
It has completed a premium of Rs 5,872 crore till third quarter of current fiscal year, with a growth of around 27 per cent. It is expected to cross Rs 8,000 crore business by the end of current fiscal year.
It has recently secured order for the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Project of Government of Tamil Nadu, to provide health insurance cover to below poverty line (BPL) families number around 1.34 crore, in December 2011.
