US indices end firm

The US indices ended with strong gains on the last of the current trading week, with the Dow Jones surging 123 points to 10,716 and the Nasdaq ending 29 points higher at 2,087.

Indian ADRs, too, had a decent outing yesterday. Infosys moved up 2.46% to $68.85, and Satyam added 1.54% to $24.47. Wipro was up a per cent at $21.96.

ICICI Bank and Dr. Reddy's advanced 2% each to $20.85 and $17.13, respectively, while HDFC Bank closed up a notch at $44.77. VSNL, however, ended unchanged from its previous close at $10.15.
