US mkts end weak

US indices failed to register gains on the last day of the calendar year 2004, with Dow Jones slipping 17 points to 10,783 and the Nasdaq ending two points down at 2,175.

Indian floats, however, displayed a mixed trend yesterday. Infosys and Wipro ended weak at $69.31 and $24.65 respectively, while Satyam closed marginally higher at $24.13.

Dr. Reddy's moved up 2.11% to $19.83. While HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank finished up a per cent each at $45.36 and $20.15 respectively, VSNL was down 1.25% at $10.28.
