Uttaranchal sets up women co-op bank

 The state government plans to set up 16,662 women co-operative banks by end next year in each and every village to empower the rural women. Uttaranchal co-operative minister Mantri Prasad Naithani inaugurated the bank at a ceremony attended by more than 60 women co-operative bank members who pooled Rs 9,000 together in the bank through their savings.
