Vijay Bank's CASA campaign

The bank has opened four camps in Bangalore

Vijay Bank on Sunday launched a special current account savings account (CASA) campaign across all its 24 regional offices in the country. The campaign named ‘Lakshya-Grihasti’ is to increase CASA base of the bank. H S Upendra Kamath, chairman and managing director, launched the campaign and gave away the pass books to the customers who opened their accounts on the spot.

The bank has opened four camps in Bangalore.

As part of the campaign, the bank is offering multi-benefits to the savings bank customers and current account holders. They include instant global debit cards (Visa), mobile banking, SMS banking, internet banking, NEFT/RTGS facility, any branch banking, free cheque book, demat account and various online banking facilities such as tax payment, online trading.

 

During the campaign, the bank is also offering housing loan at 10.55 per cent per annum onwards and vehicle loan at 11.20 per cent per annum with processing fees being waived off, the bank said in a press release.

In order to encourage micro, small and medium enterprises sector the bank has reduced interest rates on MSME loans upto 1 per cent across the board with effect from September 1, 2012. Further, in order to encourage the MSME units to go for rating by accredited external credit rating agencies, the Bank has also offered incentives to them by way of a further reduction in rate of interest ranging from 0.25 per cent to 1 per cent depending upon the ratings obtained.

Vijaya Bank has identified the MSME sector as a thrust area and the bank has recorded an annual growth under this segment by 22.43 per cent for year-ended March 2012.
