The new kid on the banking block has set up an e-bay centre at every ATM which will enable customers make balance enquiries, get details on product offerings, request for cheque books and other banking services with a personal touch as the customer will be able to view the executive with whom he is dealing. Welcome to video banking.

"We want to move towards multimedia banking with an aim to ensure greater human touch to technology-based banking services," said Rana Kapoor, managing director and chief operating officer, Yes Bank.

Every bank branch will have an e-bay centre from where a customer can make a call to the bank call centre and see the retail banking officer addressing his/ her queries and also conduct Internet banking, he added.

The bank has outsourced ATM management to India Switch Company. However, the maintenance of the e-bay centre will be done by the bank, said Kapoor.

The bank plans to install around 100 ATMs by March 2006. Yes Bank has outsourced all its information technology requirements to Wipro. The bank has signed a seven-year deal with Wipro. Following the terms of agreement, the vendor has committed to service 250 branches by 2010 for all IT infrastructure.
