Yes Bank, in collaboration with Intel Technology India, today launched a wi-fi banking branch network - the first such network in the world.

Initially, 20 out of the total 30 branches of Yes Bank will have wireless local area network (LAN) within the branch premises to allow customers conduct wireless banking transactions in a fully secure environment.

"Wireless technology and mobility give many advantages to all businesses, but security remains a top concern in the banking and financial services sector," John McClure, director (marketing and operatiors) of Intel, said.

"The wireless deployment adds tremendous business value. Customers can now access their account details, conduct transfers and online payment on their own laptops in the branch," Rana Kapoor, managing director of Yes Bank, said.
