The much expected notification for recruitment of probationary officers in State bank of India has been released.
As the top public sector bank in India State bank of India is to recruit for 2200 PO vacancies and this is the 1st big hiring by SBI this year.
Online registrations begin from May 4 24, 2016
Preliminary exam on July 2, 3, 9 & 10
Main exam on July 31
Final results to be announced on September 30, 2016
The total emoluments shall vary depending upon the place of posting but the bank has fixed the annual compensation at a minimum 7.55 lacs and maximum of 12.93 lacs
Eligibility criteria
Graduates who are in the age group of 21-30 years are eligible to apply and age relaxation shall be OBC -3yrs, SC/ST 5 yrs.
There is a limit on the number of times a person can appear for the SBI PO exam. As per this rule,a general category candidates who had already appeared for 4 previous PO exams conducted by State bank of India are not eligible to apply for this SBI PO

While OBC candidates are given 7 chances, SC/ ST can apply for any number of times since they dont have any limits.
The no. of attempts should be counted from the exam held on April 18, 2010.
Selection Procedure
State Bank of India (SBI) shall conduct two stage exam process Prelims & Mains based on which, final selections are done.
All applicants will need to appear for a preliminary test in July 2016.Those who qualify in prelims will be shortlisted for the main examination.Group discussion & Personal interviews shall be conducted for qualifiers of main exam.
