Ceasefire violation by Pakistan
As reported, during the period 01.05.2015 to 27.07.2015, 33 incidents of firing from across the border have taken place on the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) in which 03 Security Force personnel and 01 civilian lost their lives. 03 Security Force personnel and 12 civilians have got injured during this period. Various measures are taken for the safety and security of the people residing in the border districts. The affected families are temporarily shifted to safer places and accommodated by the administration at various government buildings and are provided all basic amenities like healthcare, drinking water, power, temporary toilet, sanitation and security. Security measures are augmented in border areas and anti-infiltration grid is strengthened. Police deployment is made in border areas during the night. Adequate security is provided to the abandoned villages for protection of the property. Close coordination amongst various agencies is maintained. Uninterrupted power supply is also being provided in border villages during the night. Bullet Proof bunkers and ambulances are kept in readiness at convenient locations for evacuation of persons in case of emergency.
This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary in a written reply to a question by Shri Kiranmay Nanda in the Rajya Sabha today.
