Chaitanya Prem Rath to reach Delhi from Vrindavan on 9th March, 2016 as part of commemoration of 500th Anniversary of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhus coming to Vrindavan

To commemorate the 500th Anniversary of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhus coming to Vrindavan", Vrindavan Research Institute, Vrindavan has been organizing a number of programmes with the financial support of Ministry of Culture. The celebration was marked on 25 November, 2015 on the day of Kartik Purnima, the day of Mahaprabhus coming to Vrindavan. Amongst the programmes chalked out for the year long celebrations, was a programme of a mobile exhibition depicting the life and teachings of Mahaprabhu.

The mobile exhibition, denominated as Shri Chaitanya Prem Rath was therefore flagged off by the District Magistrate of Mathura on 8 February, 2016 to pass through the places, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu had come to Vrindavan. Covering more than 20 such places, Shri Chaitanya Prem Rath will reach Delhi on the 9th March, 2016.

Shri N.K. Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Culture will receive Shri Chaitanya Prem Rath amidst chanting of Hare Krishna by a group of devotees followed by Nritya Natika at 4.30 p.m. in the Auditorium of IGNCA, Janpath, New Delhi. Chaitanya Prem Rath and the exhibition will be open for public viewing on the 9th March and till 2.30 p.m. on the 10th March, 2016 after that it will proceed to Vrindavan.
