Defence Parks
Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has accorded in principle approval for the project at Kinfra Defence Park, Ottapalam (Distt.-Palakkad), Kerala. The major activities as envisaged in proposed park as per Detailed Feasibility Report are creation of facilities like CETP, storm water drainage, rain water harvesting, internal roads, boundary wall entry gate, water supply system, power supply distribution, dormitory, hostel facility, research and development, incubation centre, quality certification centre, warehouse training centre and environment testing facility.
The cost of the project is Rs.131.35 crore including Central Grant of Rs.50 crore. The proposed Defence Park at Ottapalam (Distt.-Palakkad), is at in principle approval stage. As per Modified Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (MIIUS) guidelines, the completion time of the project is 24 months from the date of final approval.
This information was given by Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh in a written reply to Shri Mullappally Ramachandran in Lok Sabha today.
