Delhi
In the aftermath of Kosi floods in 2008, the Government of Bihar had proposed multi-sectoral recovery measures. Under Bihar Kosi Flood Recovery Project (BKFR), Phase-I and proposed Bihar Kosi Basin Development Project (BKBDP), a Detailed Project Report (DPR) amounting to Rs. 382.97 crore for flood protection and restoration of 28.20 Kilometer (km) length of embankment under Phase-II was received in Ganga Flood Control Commission (GFCC) in December, 2014. The GFCC had examined the above DPR from techno-economic considerations and sent observations to the Government of Bihar on February 20,2015.

This information was given by Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Prof.Sanwar Lal Jat in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
