Election Commission to Display Inclusive and Qualitative Electoral Participation at Republic Day Tableau
Election Commission of India (ECI) is participating in Republic day parade tomorrow with a tableau depicting the theme Inclusive and Qualitative Electoral Participation. The front portion of tableau will showcase people in various costumes representing the concept of diversity of Indian population along with the Ashoka Pillar, the National Emblem of India symbolising the resolve to promote ethical and informed electoral participation. The Tableau will also showcase Election Commission of India National Voters Service Portal which is a digital platform to provide e-enabled services to voters.
The process of deployment of man and material in the difficult terrain during electoral process is depicted on both the side murals. The process of Voter Education and Awareness which is now an integral part of election management is also depicted through an EVM familarisation camp. It also highlights officials reaching polling stations in adverse conditions and remotest areas to enable people to vote.
ECIs endeavour towards making the electoral process accessible, easy and people friendly and festive, is exhibited in the form of a Model Polling Station along with various facilitation measures such as ramp for persons with disability, Help Desk, special assistance for the elderly, medical facilities etc.
