Funds sanctioned/released by the Government to 31 States/UTs for establishment of One Stop Centres in the country

Funds have been sanctioned/released by the Government to 31 States/UTs for establishment of One Stop Centres in the country. Till date, 6 One Stop Centres have become operational, one each in Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Vijayawada City (Andhra Pradesh), Karnal(Haryana), Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Jaipur (Rajasthan) and Chandigarh.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) had at the conception stage put up a concept paper on One Stop Centres on Ministrys website in the end of June, 2014 to establish One Stop Centres to assist and support women affected by violence at 660 locations covering all the districts across the country. However, on receipt of feedback from public, stakeholders and after inter ministerial consultation, it has been decided to establish the One Stop Centre across the country in a phased manner. The Scheme envisages establishment of 1 One Stop Centre in each State/UT in the first phase and the further expansion depends upon the performance of these Centres.

The Monitoring of these Centres is being done at the national level. The Centres are at the nascent stage of operationalisation at the field level. The One Stop Centre Scheme is being monitored by the Ministry on a regular basis.

This information was given by the Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt Maneka Sanjay Gandhi in reply to an unstarred question in the Rajya Sabha today.
