JNV, Churachandpur, Manipur wins 18th National Youth Parliament Competition

Aiming at inculcating the spirit of self-discipline, tolerance of diverse opinion, righteous expression of views and other virtues of a democratic way of life, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has been organizing National Youth Parliament Competition for school children across the country. Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs presided over the prize distribution function of the 18th National Youth Parliament Competition for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas here today.

Among the 64 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalas spread over 8 regions of Navodaya Vidyalaya Saimiti, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Churachandpur (Manipur) came first in the 18th Youth Parliament Competition for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. The Running Parliamentary Shield and Trophy was awarded to the winner. Merit trophies were awarded to the winners from other 7 regions namely Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sahranpur (UO); Mysore (Karnataka); Jamnagar (Gujarat); Theog, Shimla (HP); Sidhi (MP); Karuli (Rajasthan); and Araria (Bihar) also. The students of the winning team demonstrated a short sitting of Youth Parliament on the dais.

The National Youth Parliament competition, at present, covers 1200 schools in NCT of Delhi, 1200 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 600 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalays and 300 Universities/Colleges all over the country.
