The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Shri L.C. Goyal, IAS (KL:79) Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development as Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs for a period of two years from the date of taking over charge as Home Secretary vice Shri Anil Goswami, IAS (JK:78).
The ACC has also approved the acceptance of the request of Shri Anil Goswami, Home Secretary for voluntarily retiring from service with immediate effect by waiving the notice period. The term of Shri Goswami as Home Secretary stands curtailed with immediate effect.
