Bal Gangadhar Rao Tilak, known as Lokmanya Tilak, who enthused the youth for independence a century ago, can still call upon the younger generation for a better future of India. Tilak is particularly relevant today as majority of our population is young. This was the theme that inspired Om Raut to make a biopic on Tilak. There have been feature films on all the prominent freedom fighters but not on Tilak, which gave me an opportunity to make a feature film on him, were the remarks of Om Raut, Director of the film. He was addressing a press conference after screening of his film Lokmanya: Ek Yugpurush at 45th IFFI today. I have no plan to remake Lokmanya in Hindi, he added. However, he would like its screening nationwide, but how, he doesnt know.
