The Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum & Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan informed the Rajya Sabha in a written reply today that as on 01.11.2014, there are 17.44 Crore domestic LPG customers out of which 6.03 Crore are served by rural & rural/urban distributors.
As per the Vision 2015, OMCs had to release a total of 5.5 Crore LPG connections in the entire country(including rural areas) between 2009 and 2015 and they have already released 6.69 Crore LPG connections till October, 2014 in both rural & urban areas.
