A Meeting was held between the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas today. Mr. Saurabh Chandra, Secretary, welcomed the delegation led by Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan to India and handed over a letter from Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum and Natural Gas. He recalled the historic ties between the two republics and conveyed the need to enhance the cooperation based on convergent, strategic and economic interests.
Mr. Minnikhanov, President of the republic of Tatarstan stressed the need for starting new projects and providing services for enhancing cooperation. He outlined the various capabilities of Tatarstan in the hydrocarbon and petrochemical sector.
The Chairman and Managing Directors of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Petrochemical Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petrochemical Corporation Limited (HPCL) presented their companies profiles and the areas of future cooperation and investments.
Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, proposed to take forward the cooperation through a structured arrangement with three members from each side to draw a roadmap for future cooperation.
