The Vice Prime Minister of Mauritius Mr Showkutally SOODHUN met Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State(I/C) for Petroleum and Natural Gas today in his office in Shastri Bhavan. While highlighting strong civilisation and strategic closeness of both the countries, the Petroleum Minister reiterated what the Prime Minister of India said while addressing the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas that Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary is observed in Mauritius with even greater vigour than it is observed in India.
Both sides expressed satisfaction that the entire requirement of petroleum products of Mauritius is met by MRPL India since 2006 with not even single instance of supply disruption. Both the sides agreed to further strengthen the ties in the hydrocarbon sector. Shri Pradhan offered support to develop the hydrocarbon sector in Mauritius and also offered services of specialised institutes in India for training and capacity building of manpower from Mauritius.
