MOU with NRSC
An MOU has been signed between National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) and North East Centre for Technology Application and Research (NECTAR) on 08.01.2016 with an objective to use Geo Spatial Technologies in various stages of National Highway projects viz., Feasibility study preparation, Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation, monitoring of construction operation and maintenance, asset management and Road Asset Management System (RAMS) interface with Bhuvan Geo-portal.
Satellite imagery was obtained from NRSC for preparation of DPR of Chilkaluripet bypass in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Aerial survey was conducted at Morena check post in the State of Madhya Pradesh to check the traffic congestion. Aerial surveys were also conducted at six corridors of National Highways on pilot basis.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Shri Pon. Radhakrishnan in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
