A proposal to construct a National War Memorial and Museum to commemorate our brave soldiers who have made the supreme sacrifice for the country, is being progressed. The site for construction of the same has been identified by the Government.
The site identified for National War Memorial and Museum is around India Gate and Princess Park respectively. In the Defence Services estimates for the year 2014-15 Rs.200 crores have been allocated for National War Memorial under Capital outlay on Defence Services.
The total time expected to be taken for the entire project is about 5 to 7 years after sanction of the project.
This information was given by Defence Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar in a written reply to CaptAmarinder Singh and others in Lok Sabha today.
