NCC National Games 2016 Concludes
The Minister of State for Defence Dr Subhash Bhamre reviewed an impressive march past of the young NCC Cadets at the Garrison Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt, yesterday, which marked the culmination of twelve-day long NCC National Games 2016. In his address to the Cadets, the Minister complimented the entire fraternity of the NCC for the impressive conduct of the National Games. He acknowledged the vital role and commitment of NCC to groom future leaders and remarked that it is need of the hour. On this occasion, Dr. Bhamre presented trophies to the winners of different events of the NCC Games 2016. The overall Champions Trophy was given to Punjab Directorate.
The games aim to provide the talented sportsmen among the cadet exposure of a major sporting event while preparing them with the requisite matching temperament towards furthering their sporting careers.
The closing ceremony began with hundreds of young blossoming cadets performing a scintillating display of a choreographed dance with the theme Vibrant India. The Sarang Helicopter aerobatic team left the audience spellbound with a well synchronized show. This was followed by a smart march past by the participating sportsmen formed in 17 Directorate contingents, led by cadets mounted on their stallions carrying the National, Services and the NCC Flag symbolising Unity and Discipline.
The ceremony attended by the NCC cadets from 17 directorates all over India, presented a moving picture of aspirational India on their journey to becoming worthy empowered citizens with sound values, inculcated by a common powerful binding force THE NATIONAL CADET CORPS.
