NHAI takes action to curb road accidents on NH-44 (old NH-7) near Peddakunta Tanda Village in Telangana State
Responding with extreme sensitivity to news reports that in village Peddakunta Tanda, Kothur Mandal, Mahabubnagar District, Telangana, several families have suffered tragedies because of road accidents, NHAI shall be undertaking the following actions : (1)Provide ramps to access Pedestrian Under-Pass to villagers for highway crossing;
(2)Close the median opening at Km.41.99, which is the main cause of accidents;
(3)Provide illumination of PUP, impose speed restrictions and provide road markings to calm down the traffic on NH;
(4)A senior Safety Expert has been entrusted the task of visiting the site, review the position and suggest any further measures required;
(5)Depute a local NGO to counsel villagers on appropriate road user behavior.
