Paper Mills in Assam
The production at Cachar Paper Mill (CPM) got suspended. However Nagaon Paper Mill is running and is giving production.
Production in both the units of HPC viz. CPM and NPM have been suffering due to non-availability of coal owing to blanket ban imposed by National Green Tribunal on mining and transportation of coal in the state of Meghalaya wherefrom 100% requirement used to come for CPM and 60% for NPM.
This information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Shri G.M. Siddeshwara in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
