The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is commemorating this years National Science Day as Physics Utsav-2015. This is very timely and appropriate as BARC has launched major programmes on high-energy physics and technology, namely, the Indian Institution Fermilab Collaboration for proton accelerator and the Indian Neutrino Observatory.
Dr. Sekhar Basu, Director, BARC inaugurated the function at Central Complex, BARC Mumbai today. Prof. Mustansir Barma, Ex-Director-TIFR and distinguished Professor delivered Popular talk on Scientific Landscapes.
During the Physics Utsav-2015, a large number of students and teachers from various schools and colleges in Mumbai have been invited to attend the celebrations spread over four days, from 27th February to 02nd March 2015. Each day about 200 visitors are expected. The programme comprises inspirational lectures by eminent scientists, film shows and visit to research facilities, including Dhruva reactor, ion accelerator and robotics.
