President congratulates Medal winners in Asian Para Games-2014

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has congratulated and sent individual messages to all the Indian medal winners in the Asian Para Games-2014.

The medal winners include Shri Sharad Kumar (Gold Medal in Mens High Jump); Shri Amit Kumar (Gold Medal in Mens Club Throw as well as Silver Medal in Mens Discus Throw); Ms. Parul Dalsukhbhai Parmar (Gold Medal in Womens Singles Badminton event as well as Silver Medal in Mixed Doubles); Shri Sandeep Singh Mann (two Silver Medals in Mens 200m and 400m in Athletics in one hand disabled category); Shri Ankur Dhama (Silver Medal in Mens 800m and two Bronze Medals in Mens 1500m as well as in Mens 5000m in Athletics in blind category); Shri Ramkaran Singh (Silver Medal in Mens 800m in Athletics in partial blind category); Shri Narender (Silver Medal in Mens Javelin Throw); Shri Devendra (Silver Medal in Mens Javelin Throw); Ms. Deepa Malik (Silver Medal in Womens Javelin); Shri Santhamuthuvel Kesavan (Silver Medal in Mens Discus Throw); Shri Sarkar Manoj (Silver Medal in Mens Singles Badminton); Shri Tarun (Silver Medal in Mens Singles Badminton); Shri Raj Kumar (two Silver Medals in Badminton in Mens Doubles as well as in Mixed Doubles); Shri Rakesh Pandey (Silver Medal in Mens Doubles Badminton); Shri Sharath Mahadevarao Gayakwad (Silver Medal in Mens 200m Individual Medley in Swimming and five Bronze Medals in Mens 50m Freestyle, 100m Butterfly, 100m Breaststroke, 100m Backstroke as well as in 4x100 Relay Medley events in Swimming); Shri Shavaad Jedikere Mohammed Ali (Bronze Medal in Mens 800m in Athletics in blind category); Shri Girisha (Bronze Medal in Mens High Jump); Ms. Karamjyoti (two Bronze Medals in Womens Discus Throw as well as in Shot Put); Shri Pramod Bhagat (Bronze Medal in Mens Singles Badminton); Shri Karmpal (Bronze Medal in Judo Mens Team event); Shri Jaydeepkumar Hridaya Singh (Bronze Medal in Judo Mens Team event); Shri Manoharan Janakiraman (Bronze Medal in Judo Mens Team event); Shri Ramesh Kumar (Bronze Medal in Judo Mens Team event); Ms. Ravi Vijayashanthi (Bronze Medal in Judo Womens Team event); Ms. Priyanka Annasaheb Ghumre (Bronze Medal in Judo Womens Team event); Ms. Pappathi Chinnaswamy (Bronze Medal in Judo Womens Team event); Ms. Monisha Sundaramoorthy (Bronze Medal in Judo Womens Team event); Shri Farman Basha (Bronze Medal in Mens 49kg Powerlifting); Shri Prasanta Karmakar (two Bronze Medals in Mens 100m Breaststroke and 4x100 Relay Medley events in Swimming); Shri Niranjan Mukundan (Bronze Medal in the Mens 4x100 Relay Medley in Swimming) and Shri Swapnil Sanjay Patil (Bronze Medal in Mens 4x100 Relay Medley in Swimming).

In individual messages sent to the medal winners, the President said, Your success is a matter of great pride for all Indians. It will serve as an inspiration to both sportspersons as well as differently abled people of our country. Your achievement is an example of what can be accomplished through hard work and dedication.
