President of Indias message on the eve of National Day of Sweden

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the King and people of the Kingdom of Sweden on the eve of their National Day (June 6, 2015).

In his message to His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf, Kingdom of Sweden, the President has said, On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it is with great pleasure that I extend warm greetings and felicitations to Your Majesty and to the people of the Kingdom of Sweden on the occasion of your National Day.

I would like to, once again, thank Your Majesty and Her Majesty Queen Silvia for the warm reception and gracious hospitality extended to me during my recent State Visit to your beautiful country. I would also like to reiterate my invitation to Your Majesty and Her Majesty Queen Silvia to visit India. It would be a pleasure to welcome you in New Delhi.

Relations between India and Sweden are based on the strong bedrock of shared democratic values. I am confident that the bilateral cooperation between our two countries will continue to strengthen in the years to come in every sphere of human endeavour and benefit both the Swedish and the Indian people.

Please accept, Your Majesty, the assurances of my highest consideration and my best wishes for your continued good health and personal well-being and for the progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Sweden.
