A group of probationers of Indian Postal Service of 2014 batch and the Indian P&T Accounts and Finance Service of 2013 and 2014 batches called on the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee today (March 26, 2015) at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Speaking on the occasion, the President congratulated the probationers on having cleared one of the toughest competitive examinations i.e. the civil services, which speaks of their academic excellence. He stated that government service provides them an opportunity to serve the people of this great country. He advised the probationers that their job as public servants is to deliver service. They are an important part of the socio-economic transformation of the nation. He said that the Indian Postal system is one of the institutions that has helped bring the people across the length and breadth of the country together. Over the years, the Department has assumed its own character and ethos.
The probationers of the Indian Postal Service and the Indian P&T Accounts and Finance Service are presently undergoing professional training at the Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Academy, Ghaziabad and the National Institute of Communication Finance, Ghaziabad respectively.
