All the projects of Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) are reviewed regularly at various levels. The major projects are Development of Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) for Indian Air Force (IAF) and Indian Navy for which ADA is the Nodal Agency and Programme Manager for design and development, and HAL is the Principal Partner. The present status of these projects are given below:-
LCA-Air Force Version:
Initial Operational Clearance (IOC) has already been completed. IAF has placed an order on HAL for 20 Aircraft to be supplied in IOC configuration of which the First Aircraft has been handed over to IAF in Jan 2015.
LCA-Naval Version:
Naval Prototype 1 (NP-1) Trainer Aircraft and Naval Prototype 2 (NP-2) Fighter Aircraft are undergoing flight trials.
