Publications Division to outline a roadmap focusing on e-mode methods and strategies-Shri Bimal Julka Secretary, I&B inaugurates Publications Division's pavilion at 'New Delhi World Bookfair'

Secretary I&B Shri Bimal Julka has said the Publications Division was in the process of outlining a roadmap that would keep the Media Unit in sync with contemporary trends, technological tools, marketing and distribution strategies related with the publishing industry. The proposed roadmap would focus on e-mode methods and strategies for marketing and distribution, publication of e-books, digitization of content, restoration of archival print material and schemes that would modernize the approach of the division towards the publishing domain. Shri Julka stated this while inaugurating the Publications Division's pavilion at the 'New Delhi World Book Fair' here today.

Elaborating further Shri Julka mentioned that as part of the roadmap initiative the Publications Division would invite ideas and suggestions from the people for improvement in all critical segments of the Publications domain. The suggestions would be received on the social media platforms of the I&B Ministry. Thereafter the information would be collated and reviewed by a committee of experts. As part of the initiative to encourage new talent, Shri Julka invited creative and innovative content/suggestions through crowdsourcing via the New Media Platforms as well as the traditional platforms. A new scheme was under discussion that would focus on digitization of the rare print material under the Division.

On the occasion, Shri Julka released new editions of five books on Sardar Patel, the architect of modern India. These included biographies of the eminent leader under the prestigious builders of modern India series in Hindi and English written by Shri I.G. Patel, an academician and former V.C. of Sardar Patel University, Vidyanagar, Lohpurush Sardar Patel - a colourful and inspiring children's book in Hindi authored by Shri Mukut Bihari Verma and 'Desh ki Ekta ka Nirman' - a collection of the speeches of the eminent leader, devoted to the theme of national unity delivered between 1946-1950. He also released a set of children's books namely Chocolate, Nabh Mein Aaya Indradhanush and Thodi Kasam Phir se Khayi. Smt.Sadhna Rout, ADG, Publications Division and Joint Secretary, Shri Mihir Kumar Singh of the I&B Ministry along with senior officials of the Publications Division and the Ministry of I&B were also present at the inaugural function.
