Rajya Sabha MP Sh.Tarun Vijay calls on Union Tourism Minister

The Member of Parliament from Rajya Sabha, Sh.TarunVijay calledon the Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge), Culture (Independent Charge), and Civil Aviation, Dr. Mahesh Sharma in New Delhi today. In the meeting, he requested the Minister for getting the statue of Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar at Kanyakumari connected with a bridge to the main land. In his representation, Shri Tarun Vijay said that Thiruvalluvar is India's symbol of culture, philosophy and civilization and millions of tourists have to reach the grand statue after crossing the rough sea. Constructing the bridge will be a significant contribution for India's culture and especially for the great Tamil society, he said. Shri Tarun Vijay also invited the Minister to visit the Thiruvalluvar Statue on 11th Jan, 2015 to pay homage to the great saint and join the ThiruvalluvarThiruPayanam.

Secretary Culture, Shri Ravindra Singh and Secretary Tourism, Shri Lalit Panwar were also present during the meeting.
