Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) function under the administrative control of various Ministries/Departments and all matters relating to revival/ restructuring/closure of CPSEs are dealt by the concerned administrative Ministries/ Departments.
Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), as a nodal department, has issued guidelines on 29.10.2015 for Streamlining the mechanism for revival and restructuring of sick/ incipient sick and weak Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs)". As per the guidelines, the concerned administrative Ministries/ Departments are responsible to monitor the performance of the CPSEs and categorise them as sick/ incipient sick/ weak CPSEs. The concerned administrative Ministries/ Departments are also responsible for formulating revival/restructuring/ disinvestment/closure plans for CPSEs functioning under them and after obtaining the approval of competent authority, implement the plans.
This information was given by Minister of State in the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Shri Babul Supriyo in reply to a written question in the Lok Sabha today.
