Security at Airports
At present, 26 airports are categorized as Hyper-sensitive and 56 airports as Sensitive. The State Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) etc. have been deployed at the airports where CISF are not deployed. These agencies are providing security at airports as per the mandate of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), the regulatory authority for civil aviation security in India. Counter Terrorist Contingency Plans (CTCPs) are prepared for Hyper-sensitive/Sensitive airports in coordination with State Governments, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and CISF in accordance with the mandate of MHA.
