Setting up of Modern Yoga Institute
On the basis of information made available by the University Grants Commission (UGC), 108 colleges from 54 Universities are conducting courses on Yoga at various levels in the country during 2012-13. Ministry of AYUSH has also set up Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, an autonomous organization at New Delhi. However, the Government has approved setting up of Central Research Institute for Yoga and Naturoapthy (CRIYN) at Nagmangla (Karnataka) and Jhajjar (Haryana). This information was given by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of AYUSH, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik in a written reply to an unstarred question in the Rajya Sabha.
