Shri Kiren Rijiju interacts with J&K children
The Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju met the children from Jammu and Kashmir here today. The group of 39 students in the age group of 12-16 years, are mainly from poor families of remote area of Jammu region. As part of the programme, the children were taken to Ahmadabad, Rajkot, Delhi, Agra and Amritsar. The tour of students is being organized by the Border Security Force (BSF). During the meet, the children shared their experience of visit to different historical places and thanked the BSF and the Government of India for organising tours of this nature.
While interacting with the children, Shri Kiren Rijiju appreciated the efforts of BSF in organising the tour for the students. He thanked BSF for not only securing the border areas of the country but also winning the hearts of children in the border areas.
Shri Kiren Rijiju said India is one of the oldest and beautiful country in the world and everyone has contributed for Indias existence. The tour which gives insight about the historical, cultural and social profile of the country, will help the children to understand the diversity of India and improve their knowledge and general awareness about historical places, social values, culture & traditions, he added.
Shri Kiren Rijiju said that the children should share their experience with their friends and families when they go back home. In his message to the children, the MoS said that hard work and education are the key elements for success and happiness in life.
BSF is organising such programmes since 1999-2000. Till date, 1539 children from J&K have participated in BSF sponsored 55 Bharat Darshan Tours.
