Situation Peaceful in Kannur, Kerala Kerala CM Assures of Swift Police Action

Chief Minister of Kerala Shri Oommen Chandy has informed Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh that all accused in a murder in Kannur on August 17, 2014 have been arrested and produced before the court. In a letter to the Union Home Minister, Shri Chandy also assured all accused in the latest murder case of social activist Manoj on September 1, 2014 would soon be brought to book.

Kerala CM said the State Police would restore peace in the district at the earliest. He said the Law and Order presently in the district is normal.

Earlier Shri Rajnath Singh had a telephonic conversation with the Kerala Chief Minister on September 2, 2014 and expressed concern over the killings of political and social activists in the state. The Union Home Minister had asked Shri Chandy to take strict action to stop such political killings.
