Sports Authority of India to take care of all matters relating to Para-athletes
The Ministry of Youth Affair and Sports has decided that all the matters relating to Para-athletes including selection of athletes for various sporting events, conduct of coaching camps, and submission of entries of para-athletes in international tournaments shall be taken care of by Sports Authority of India till further orders. The Ministry had earlier suspended PCI in view of serious complaints received against it. Further, in order to protect the interest of para-athletes in the country, the Ministry has already requested International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to take certain steps including permitting SAI to send entries of para-athletes of the country to international competitions.
