Steps taken by the Government for Development of Textile Sector
In order to achieve sustainable growth, modernization, value addition, increase in exports and for overall development of the textile sector in the country, the Government has been implementing various policy initiatives and schemes such as the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS), Schemes for the development of the Powerloom Sector, Schemes for Technical Textiles, Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP), Integrated Skill Development Scheme(ISDS), Integrated Processing Development Scheme (IPDS), National Handloom Development Progarmme (NHDP), Comprehensive Handloom Cluster Development Scheme (CHCDS), etc. Further, the Government has also recently launched special package for employment generation and promotion of exports in Textile and Apparel sector.
Government has taken a large number of steps through its various policy initiatives and schemes such as Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS), Schemes for the development of the Powerloom Sector, Schemes for Technical Textiles, Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP), Integrated Skill Development Scheme(ISDS), Integrated Processing Development Scheme (IPDS), National Handloom Development Programme, Handloom Weavers Comprehensive Welfare Scheme, Yarn Supply Scheme, Comprehensive Handloom Cluster Development Scheme, etc. to provide assistance for modernization of textile industry in the country.
